A couple of weeks ago I made a start on
degreasing and tidying up the Enfield's engine. It runs and starts up beautifully … or at least it did before I took the bike apart … so hopefully all it will need is attention to the cosmetics and a service as part of this project. I have made a few references to this activity so I thought I would use today's Journal entry as an opportunity to illustrate progress.
The Journal entries of
28th September,
12th and
26th October show the grimy and oxidised state of the engine. These photographs show the progress on this almost Herculean endeavour.

Most definitely a "before" |

Getting There |

I'm now willing to approach it without donning a Hazmat suit |

Note the nasty engine mounting plate on the gearbox |
The enamel and primer is due to be delivered tomorrow so the weekend activity is likely to be sanding brackets and spacers before I get busy with the paint brush.

have no idea who reads this stuff, so it's really nice to get some feedback from whoever your are.
All the best
